Day 37: Equilibrium Restored

Day thirty-seven of furlough. The balance of the universe has been restored, Amy’s home. The house feels right again. The quiet hums differently now, alive instead of hollow. Even the morning light seemed to filter in softer, warmer, like it knew things were back where they belonged.

Naturally, the day began with coffee, a Starbucks Venti White Chocolate Mocha, of course. The first sip hit perfect. Maybe it’s just the calm settling in, but it tasted better than it has in days. The baristas even commented that they missed seeing Remington riding shotgun; apparently, she’s developed a bit of a fan club at the drive-through window.

The day moved slower, in the best way. No rush, no checklist. Just the rhythm of normal returning, Amy unpacking, Remi circling her like a small, overjoyed satellite, and the cats pretending they hadn’t noticed she was gone (before promptly following her everywhere).

I spent a little time tidying up loose ends on projects, a few overlay tweaks, small adjustments to December’s music launch assets, but nothing heavy. Today wasn’t about productivity. It was about peace.

Dinner will be something simple at home, the kind that doesn’t need words, just shared space and soft laughter.

Morale check: fully restored. The Living Room Republic rejoices, queen returned, coffee perfect, dog adored, and all is right with the world once more.

I’ve mostly been dropping songs as I finish them, just one at a time.

This next release is a little different. Dirt, Love & Freedom is 12 of those songs gathered into one album. Same music, same heart, just all in one place.
